Picking Michael Up in Chicago

Michael came home Friday November 5th .

I left school early to prepare for my trip to Chicago with Michael's parents. It was a two and a half hour drive so I got my homework done and worked on my latest blog post. I like going out to the city every once in a while after being in the country for so long. As we were driving there I saw less and less trees and eventually started to see the tall smoke pipes. We did some sight seeing and we out to Giordano's, an Italian restaurant known for its for it's classic Chicago pizza. Michael's parents got the deep dish classic Chicago pizza & I got spaghetti. Michael's parents have tried many pizzas around and thought that it wasn't the best that they have had, but I did really like my spaghetti. We also got some Chicago mix popcorn from Garrett Popcorn Shops, it was really good like always.

We did a lot of walking around again and headed to the airport. We came a little early but thankfully found a starbucks and I got a chai peach tea and Sheila got a chocolate banana smoothie. His flight arrived earlier than expected around 11 P.M.. All day I had been telling him I could not make the trip because I was sick, and I also didn't tell him I dyed my hair (an icy shade of blonde) or that his Mom and I worked on a "welcome home" sign. His parents and I worked together to surprise when he came off the plane so he wouldn't see my face or hair and only see the sign. I had never seen him this surprised and shocked before! We picked up his bags and had a late night ride home catching up.
