Rachel & I have been friends since 2015. We had grown up in the same school district but she has moved to Michigan and came back. We first met in ceramics class last year, it was the first time we had taken ceramics and kind of just found ourselves drifting towards each other.

We talked a lot till the end of the school year and I was busy with work, sadly we just stop talking. But the other day we ran into each other at school and decided it was time to catch up over a cup of coffee (or tea.)

We met up at The Electric Brew in Goshen IN, it is a quiet and remote coffee shop with charm. The building its self looks old and vintage and there is so much character on the inside from the crown molding across the walls to the old distressed wood paneling.

Each table has its own unique sense of style and is different from the rest. On the inside you can find hanging art work and even a bicycle. When the weather is warm again I would love to try the patio out front but for this occasion it was a bit chilly for that.

As I was early (like around fifteen minutes) I had some time to spare to walk around downtown were it is located. Michael and I had gone on a lot of dates in downtown Goshen either shopping, eating, theater, & and even took one of his senior photo shoots there.

I often found myself crossing paths I once had and remembered the memories I had created there.

Downtown Goshen is underrated in my opinion because there are many new businesses that are unique that you would have to travel hours to find somewhere else. One places I really enjoy is Honey's, it is a frozen yogurt shop that has endless flavors that change daily and from season to season.

I luckily got what I thought was the cutest table when I first came inside. I really like corners rather than being out in the open, and window tables are the best (can you guess which table I got?) It just lit up to me so I grabbed it, got some hot tea and read the paper until Rachel arrived.

She got a vanilla iced coffee and coffee cake & I had hot tea with baked oatmeal.

We caught up on so much & it is really nice to have someone to talk to about life. Rachel is honestly a old soul and understands me so well, we are interested in the same things that other people might find boring like old record players and vinyl. We are both not out spoken extroverts but rather like our personal space and imitate relationships. She is really an old soul and I love it.

Before we knew it it was almost two hours later and we hardly noticed. I am so happy I had my first time there with her, and she didn't only show me a great coffee shop but she also showed me a great vinyl shop next door. I never heard of either before and they really are hidden gems.

I had a really good time and enjoyed going out and can't wait to do it again. I have a gallery at the bottom if you'd like to see all the pictures from ceramics class to our cute get together. Also Michael comes back home Friday from the Air Force tech school in Texas!
